Kelly Clarkson is an American artist and singer. She became the nation's sweetheart after winning the American Idol title in Season 1 of the competition. She was not only a celebrity after winning and she signed a record contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings & "S Records" for several albums. Since then, she's put out several studio albums, three of which made the cut in the US Billboard 200' chart and the rest of her albums just fell short of the top spot. She's one of the biggest artists that have come out from American Idol. She tried her hand at recognition for her various themes and musical styles. She often composed the songs herself. Because of her distinctiveness and vocal prowess, she received critical acclaim as well as many awards. She's been honored with the Grammy Award 3 times. In addition, she has appeared on movies and on television. She also wrote the book for kids River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and been involved in several charities.
